You guys have been bugging us about this for weeks, but finally there is an answer to the question: when will Android One get the Lollipop update? The Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the first of the Android One devices will happen by the end of January, 2015.

IndiaToday is reporting that Prashant Bindal, CEO of Spice Mobility, has confirmed that all Dream Uno users will receive the Lollipop update, ”around January.” There’s still no word on a rollout date for Micromax’s A1 and the Karbonn Sparkle V – the other Android One devices – will get the Lollipop update, but we would expect it to be around the same time. Because the hardware in the three devices is the same, there’s not much stopping a simple flash procedure from spreading the update around once it arrives on the Dream Uno in any case.

Keep in mind too that a January rollout would put the Android One handsets on the update gravy train well before many major flagship devices. For example, the HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7) are only promised Lollipop by the start of February.

Do you have an Android One phone? What are your expectations for Lollipop?
